I took the time to transpose a bit more of The Rig tonight. As promised, there are now grenades and a bear. I’m going to leave what’s there as Chapter 1. The wife talked me into lengthening this thing, so from now on I’ll post in chapters. If I can keep myself writing…
I posted the tea wrappers I wrote while on vacation in Hawaii. I wrote quite a bit more on The Rig too, but I haven’t transposed it yet.
Ok, I’m one-handing it here as I feed my son a bottle, so I’m going to try to make this short…
Nevermind, he decided that he’d rather go down to play. New card today. And I’ve reposted The Rig as a PDF. Now, I know that I’ve decried the PDF in the near past, but I’ve got a couple of reasons for doing this. First, I’m having trouble formatting the thing so that it looks right. Second, I found a website that lets you create a font in using your own handwriting. To me, this is fantastic. I’ve been looking for a way to do this for a long time and have found that it’s either incredibly difficult or prohibitively expensive. YourFonts lets you do it for free, and it’s easy. Anyway, I made my own font and I’ve been writing The Rig using it. PDF lets me post my story in my handwriting. I feel like YourFont and the PDF overlords should pay me for advertising now.
An idea struck me on the way to work this morning, and now I have this. I don’t normally post anything that hasn’t been worked on and edited at least a little, but here’s something raw. The formatting isn’t even turning out right. Oh well. I’ll probably take it down tomorrow when I’m thinking clearly.
Edit: I’m talking about The Rig, and obviously it’s not only unedited, but also incomplete. I don’t want to give away too much of the plot, but it involves a bear and hand grenades. Stay Tuned Kids!
Somebody leave a comment. I’m going deaf in the vacuum. Be anonymous, be mean, be random, I don’t care. Just say something.
New tea wrapper, fresh from about 5 minutes ago. It’s strange, and I’m not sure why I wrote it, but this scene has been stuck in my head for a week now.
I pasted in another True Story tonight. Honestly, I don’t like it very much. I think it shows how much I need somebody besides myself to edit my work. Try to enjoy it.
Edit: I remembered that I had a business card to scan in too. I don’t like it either. This post should be called: Stuff I Don’t Like But I’m Letting People Read Anyway.
